Auto Aid - Impossible to contact

Well as I got no response from my post in the other Auto Aid thread, I have started another. I have been a member for a year and I had a letter stating they will be renewing my membership. Since the expired date 2 weeks on I have had no such confirmation by post or email.

I have emailed their customer service twice with no response. I have called their renewel number a few times with no answer as it just keeps on ringing and ringing perpetuated with automated voice messages saying my call will be answewed soon, which it doesn't.

So how on earth am I supposed to find out if I am still a member or not ? They are impossible to get hold of which makes me wonder about the quality of their cover if this poor to contact.

What sort of response are you hoping for?

Since you joined they sold out to right Choice.

You will get an idea as to why you are having this problem now if you take a look at this thread "avoid ..RCIB":

There is a post there where (worse than your problem) a poster is having a problem over getting paid an autoaid claim

If you are still in your cooling off period maybe worth going elsewhere!

Cooling off ? I don't even know if they have renewed or not and anyhow, how on earth do I get hold of them to cancel ?

If you want to and can't reach them to cancel then send them a letter (hand it in at a Post Office and get a certificate of posting)

I've recently renewed with these guys. Was aware of the change to RCIB but no problem so far. Think some of the numbers have changed. I used 0345 600 6443

When you say "no problem so far", do you mean no problems with your car requiring them, or that you have had problems with your car and the "new" autoaid caused you no problems fixing your car and sending you reimbursement??

I recently had to renew and it took 2 half hour+ phone calls to change my address. I wasn't aware of this thread, probably won't go with them next year.

Ok, so I found my email from them and it seems I am not covered unless I renew online.

Can anyone recommend another good breakdown service other than Auto Aid that is value for money ?

    Checkout the MSE guide:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/breakdown-cover

Though exercise usual caution as MSE still recommends Autoaid (presumably based on the historical reviews prior to the sellout to RCIB)

Just to clarify I recently renewed with Autoaid over the phone. Not sure why they'd only offer on line renewal? Sorry can't comment on any recent claim experience. I did make one about 4 years ago and it was well handled.
