Imprinted concrete driveways

I am thinking of replacing my old concrete drive with imprinted concrete. I saw an old thread on here with issues such as cracking, slippery surface, fading are a problem, and was wondering if that was still the case or if things have improved. I have seen imprinted drives in the area that are looking very good after many years, and don't appear to have any of those issues. Is it just down to how its laid and the materials used or is there more to it?, and what maintenance does it need - cleaning, resealing etc. how often?

Any advice appreciated
