Best online banking to track my spending

I'm looking for advice on which bank has the best online experience in terms of managing your spending. I'm with HSBC and it's just a list of transactions. Since using service like ontrees or money dashboard is usually not allowed by banks (and rightly so as I would have to share my credentials with 3rd party to allow them to basically scrape transaction and import them into their database) I'm looking for a bank account with similar functionality. Barclaycard comes very close to it but I'm not sure about Barclays current account web interface. Any recommendations?
Regards,
Arthur

There's no bank account, or any magic, that does this. What you want is a personal finance package such as YNAB that helps you to manage your money.

Problem is, HSBC disabled statement downloads. They only provide PDFs now.

I'm with Santander who offer a Smart Banking app which basically outlines your spending habits in terms of where you shop, how much has entered and left your account in the past 31 days. It also breaks down your spending in terms of debit card payments. It also goes back three months in terms of your net figure of incomings and outgoings which really does help you track how much you are saving.

An app that I haven't tried is 'B', It's launched by the Yorkshire Bank and I believe the first 12 months are free but there is a charge after that. I'd have a look into that If you're really keen on the tracker element of banking.

However I'd personally say to always stick with the account that suits you best financially whether It be credit interest, cashback or an overdraft.
