I'm with barclays and i have a premier account, I've had this account since 2009. I was sold this while unemployed as i had just been made redundant, Now i've since tried to cancel it, but was told not too, as its the best account i can get. And i wont get any of the features on another account. My overdraft is £1200, i dont even earn that much, so im constantly living in my overdraft, and was then told that as ive spent most of the time in the overdraft, i'm not eligible to reclaim for PPI or infact anything. I wasnt told this when i stared the account I'm still getting charged for going into my overdraft now. Where do i stand? Is there actually anything i can do?

Is it definitely a Premier account? The qualifying criteria for that is earnings over £75K (may have been a little lower at the time) or a high level of savings with the bank. For what reason were you sold this type of account?
If you're still paying an account fee, then it's not a Premier account.0 -

Do you agree with that or not? If not, then tell them you want to change. They are offering an opinion. Doesnt mean you have to agree with it if you feel otherwise.i dont even earn that much, so im constantly living in my overdraft, and was then told that as ive spent most of the time in the overdraft, i'm not eligible to reclaim for PPI or infact anything.
What has PPI got to do with this?I wasnt told this when i stared the account I'm still getting charged for going into my overdraft now. Where do i stand? Is there actually anything i can do?
When you borrow someone elses money, you pay for that. Either solely in interest, charges or a combination of interest and charges. That is quite normal.
