I received my tax credit renewal which showed a reduced amount in September as my child is 16, i completed the on line renewal stating that she will be in full time education from September giving details of her college course and qualification etc. i received another renewal still with the lower amount from September.
is this correct, i thought it did not change as they are in full time education? or do i have to call them in September, there are no details sent out with the pack they send.

Thanks

They don't update their records until September as they do all the claims at the same time.

Have you notified child benefit as the tax credits will normally only update once the child benefit has updated.

In fact this year I filled in the online form to extend the child benefit for my eldest as he is still in collage for another year and it actually had a box to tick for them to update tax credits and pass the info onto them.
