Sudden increase in SPAM

And i am not talking about the mad rush of spammers on this site either.

I have a really old email address thats been signed up for umpteen dodgy sites over the years, all those sites that make you register to see a full article or picture for an article. I have lots of email addresses and they are fine its just this dodgy AOL one, i know AOL had a security issue some years ago and my spam did increase slightly, but its a spam account so not an issue.

Over the past 2 days though the amount of spam i delete has increased greatly. There are one or 2 sites that i use then i never moved to another email account. So they still get delivered to this email address, otherwise it maybe time to dump it. Just dont like the fact that someone else may take the email address later and get some of my spam :)

Maybe time to stop checking it and just let it build up? :)

Do you have a technical problem you need help with ??
  • No technical problem just spamming :D

If it's in the spam folder just empty it once a week end of spam.
  • Its worrying that when your logging onto official government websites that you suddenly get spam emails containing subjects that are similar to the website you were on.

Sounds like malware on your computer rather than any issue with the websites you are visiting.

Yep i want to forward the spam and require some email addresses to try :)

Some are the usual medical and make it grow emails but some are offers for UK shop vouchers. Seems i have won £300 - £500 for every UK shop going.

They seem to have swapped from .com domains to .eu lately also.

Here is one for Argos, this is the link to collect my £500. (edited, not the full link)

    etrewa.bbandbh.vaanverkeerd.eu
if you goto the vaanverkeerd.eu it says unsubscribe, nothing else.

How do you track them other than a domain lookup etc?
