Wow! Have you been and priced up the materials?

If this is the going rate in your area then so be it. But I suggest you get more quotes, and/or do some negotiation.

Even the guarantee sounds poor. My WB has a 10 year guarantee.

I know there are regional variations on price but that is 130% more than I paid in May for the same boiler. Admittedly, I got an excellent deal, largely due to asking for a better one during a half-price BG sale. Got a leaflet through the door yesterday advertising BG have reinstated the "£400 scrappage" (this is a word, now?) deal on new boilers so it may be worth your while looking into this. Even if you have signed a contract, you have a 14 day cooling off period, don't forget.

BG run the £400 off a new boiler every year. With their inflated prices they can afford to give the boiler free.

This is from BG with a free boiler offer!

Why you going heat only ?

This is heating and hot water, conventional system retaining the HWC.

  • Ok I see with materials being 1000-1300 couldn’t see why so high until you mentioned the magic words BG I’d say you could knock upto 1K off by not using them especially if you having works done in quieter months i.e summertime and more than likely get longer manufactures warranty... Get more quotes but don't mention BG have quoted
