Thomson £25 booking fee

Booked a First Choice holiday today at a Thomson's shop. They charged me £25 for booking it because it was not one of their holidays. Anyone else had this problem?

    That's a strange one.

    Especially as First Choice is a trading brand of TUI as is Thomson.

    Are you sure it wasn't a service fee for booking and matching an on line holiday price?

    yes, they will charge you £25 if you go instore and book, they did it to me last year, and I still had to print my documents out myself, Although they did offer to when I ran out of ink, for one of my documents. Lesson learned, and Ive booked it myself online this year.

    Thomson/First choice charge £25 to match their internet prices as usually the difference between shop and DIY is huge. But I would expect the shop to print my tickets off for me and not do it myself. My favourite phrase to customers that moan about paying for a service is "If I want to decorate my house myself its free, if I get a painter or decorator to do it I've got to pay them" You're getting the service off a shop who has rent, wages etc to pay and if it all goes wrong someone to sort it out for you, saving you hanging on the end of a phone (premium number) for several hours.

    There is no need to print anything except boarding passes if you check in online, and even those can be picked up at the airport. You don't get tickets, just a confirmation or eticket receipt if you booked a flight only
