Power outtage in fridge/freezer

Hi, lost power to the fridge/freezer for about 26 hours. I didn't open the freezer at all and only opened the fridge briefly and opened closed the door as quickly as possible.
Has anyone had the same happen for same time, and did you eat the food and was it all ok or any illness etc. The milk from the fridge still tasted ok, not gone sour. i appreciate all fruit/veggies would be fine, otherwise I have fresh soup, eggs, butter and cheese and fish in there.
I opened the freezer door after the power had been back about 1.5 hours and I could see ice in the meat etc. Any advice? I have seen mixed guidance on the internet. Thanks

The foods in your fridge should be fine. After all, they are in a cool place and people managed for years without fridges; just a cool pantry for storage.
Use you nose and reject anything that smells odd.
Even switched off, your freezer was probably cooler than the fridge, where some of the things could have been safely stored for a couple of days.
Some items may suffer if they slightly thawed, as this followed by a refreeze alters the texture.
A good indicator of whether there was any thawing is ice cream, as it will have changed shape.0 -
Have a look in manual. All freezers are designed for keeping the cool inside for certain duration of power outage. It won't be 26 hours but as suggested that along with if ice cream melted and smell, any ice formed from condensation in compartments is a good guide..0
