Just wanted to get this clear and I think I've done this right.
I've purchased a car. So I have part paid for it using my credit card. will this cover me under section 75.
I like to pay the rest using bank transfer?

Yes. Any amount on a credit card will give you section 75 protection.

Just to be sure, section 75 only covers purchases costing between £100 and £30,000, on the off chance that you're thinking of buying a car outside this range!

    Thank you :T
I had a real wobble moment. I used my visa debit card initially. To make a deposit. Thinking I was covered. I was doubting myself and thought to ask the question in the forum. I have paid over £150 on my credit card that should be enough?:j
    I hope

Eskbanker I wish! But the answer is no.. Got the car just on my budget.
I got great deals with 2 high street banks.
One has increased my credit card limit and the other I've managed to get money transfer deal. So didn't get a loan...
Cc is 0% for 32 months, however promotional money transfer is only up to Dec.
So I will be using snowballing effect ....
I can manage the repayment with out being stung with interest. I have made sure I have a little cushion too.
I wanted to apply to other cc but was not sure I get the full amount on one or two applications. So causing too many applications and taking six month to a year so that my credit history settled down again before applying. Plus ensuring that I get great deal too.
I got a deal MBNA but not the requested credit limit I wanted.
    Thank you zx81

That should be fine but just remember as you're purchasing a car it's not a warranty. It just makes the credit card comoany jointly liable with the dealer you bought it from.
