They are authorised and regulated by the FCA.I have checked and they appear as authorised on the FCA register
What is it that you are wanting to know ?.I know nothing about them but the first point of call with questions such as yours is to check their bona fides

Hello Daniel54,
Thanks for speedy reply. I have read all the information provided on their website and the link you have given. Again, that is all provided by themselves and I am looking for independant views and opinions. My main concern is whether they are a genuine and secure company. If anyone has used their services I would be grateful to hear the outcome.
I have previously asked on here regarding defined benefit pension options and as part of my overall request for options and I am now investigating the possibility of transfer of cetv., and what it entails. Tideway Wealth keep popping up on my google searches and do provide some information of interest.
Anyone dealt with them. or other thoughts or ideas welcome.
Thanks again,

Most advisory firms are small local firms. 1-5 advisers with the same sort of internet coverage that you local independent butcher would have. i.e. none or virtually none. Most firms wont have a website. Although this one does.
What made you pick this company? Are they local to you? Did you approach them or they approach you?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Hello dunstonh,
Thanks for the reply.I came across the company whilst searching the net for information. I found the their website helpful and informative and am looking for anyone's impressions and prior knowledge, before making contact. If, I make contact.I haven't picked this company, they are just a part of my search for info. They are not local, hence my query. I am not anywhere near to a point whereby I need to have face to face with local services.
Thanks, Billy0 -

OP has a defined benefit pension with a CETV in excess of £440,000 - if he wants to transfer out he'll need the advice of a Pension Transfer specialist.0 -
xylophone,
I have applied for an updated CETV. Others in workplace have all seen increases in their latest valuations.I fully understand that a Transfer specialist would be required if i decided to proceed.
Tideway investments advertise they have Transfer specialists, hence my interest.
The planned closure of my db pension, on July 1st, has been delayed temporarily pending further discussions. The scheme will be closed in the near future. I have already received( from board contributors) a lot of information and ideas re my options going forward. I am now looking for info re transfer and came across Tideway. I am still undecided which direction to take when the scheme closes and I haven't, so far, looked into transfer. Any info regarding Tideway is welcome.
Thanks, Billy0 -
It seems to me that short of a personal recommendation, you know as much about this firm as you would learn about any other from the literature that they produce?
Obviously you can check the firm's registration and the partners' qualifications but you would really need to do some exploratory research/telephone enquiries etc before choosing a personal adviser.
Using unbiased would enable you to filter by qualifications.

Had you come across the above?0 -
xylophone,
It would have been helpful if anyone had provided personal experience of dealing with Tideway. That is a very informative link you have provided and will take a bit of time for me to fully digest. I may contact Tideway (or other specialist) thereafter, although in reality I it is unlikely I shall take the transfer option.I'm just trying to look at all options.
Thanks for your input,

As I mentioned earlier, that is a bit like asking the world wide web if they have used the butcher down the end of your road.
Most people prefer to use relatively local firms. You would need a pension transfer specialist. That means its more likely to be town/city based firm than a rural one but there are plenty around that will offer that service.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). dunstonh,
Yes, I have been rather hopeful and vague. I was hoping to be forearmed before arranging a local meeting , if needed.
Thanks all for the input,
Billy0
