Folding Glass Shower Screen (weight of)

I would like to have a bath installed with a folding glass screen at one end as I intend to have a shower installed in the bath. Therefore the screen starts from bath height and not floor height.
Does the glass screen have to be attached to a brick/block wall to carry it?
The wall has wooden paneling over a pine frame.
Potentially the wooden paneling could be removed at the section where the screen is to be attached and a new vertical pine timber could be attached to the internal frame here to carry the screen.

I have the exact same type of shower screen. It has been hung for 10 years on an internal wall of the plasterboard variety - no issues at all
