if you do buy from the states, just be aware of the warranty conditions before purchase.
i bought a MP3 player from a UK seller who imported from the states. didnt matter too much as it only charges via USB and they will sort out warranty issues directly.
apple, more than most, tend to restrict certain functions for whatever reason they have, just be sure things are fully compatible (ie wifi access)
i heard about a norweigan fella who travelled to new york for the iphone launch and took 2 home. total trip must have been about 2grand including the 2x24month contracts, little did he realise that those phones are locked into one carrier and near impossible to unlock!0 -

Just bought an Ipod Classic 80gb from Dixons Tax Free show at Heathrow on a Domestic Flight for £135.32.
I'm off to the US next week and the price is $250. Thought paying the £10 extra was worthwhile considering warranty and tax implications of buying in the States.
Plus I can fill it up with Music for my two 10 hours flights.

Ta for the reply. I got it a week or so ago and love it. UPS were great too, I wasn't in but left a number on the door. He called me and we arranged to met locally in the afternoon. Much better than virtually any other courier I've used (espescially Citylink)Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0 -
