Car insurance premium increase

I currently live in Cumbria and study in Oxford. I am starting a placement in Oxford in August. For this I have purchased a car (Peugeot 307) to insure myself in Cumbria it's costing me £880 through hastings direct. To change my address to my new address in Oxford, it's costing me £3800. Is there anyway I can reduce this without having to leave my current insurance company and take out a new policy?

I have also just got a quote for my old university house which is 10 minutes away from my new house and the insurance for there is £945.

I cannot afford to pay £3800, any advice would be great!

Thanks.
