I've always just used a kettle of boiling water on them if they're on the ground.... if in flight, run inside and shut the doors :)

Our chickens used to go bonkers when the young queens and male ants emerge on their mating flights - they must be extra tasty compared to normal ants.

Any fly spray will do the job if you really need to get rid of them.

They'll only be around for a few hours.

Why bother? most of them end up as meals for creatures further up the food chain, and they cant bite or sting so pose zero threat to you.

As with Keep pedalling, why bother? Around here the gulls have a feast way circling up in the sky

Expecting them any time soon, hot & humid today

They're out in Cardiff today. Had around 100 seagulls circling over our carpark for about an hour earlier, obviously munching on the flight ants. It was quite a spectacle, but no one was keen on going out to their cars at all for the fear of being dive bombed or shat on from a great height!

Can't you just move away from where the ants are?

Flying ants don't bite. Something else has had you.

Get some Mosquito Milk or Avon's Original Dry Oil spray. Both of those are fab at keeping away biting insects.

Why on earth would you want to kill them , they grow wings they fly away
My MIL always used to get the boiling water put as soon as she saw an ant outside , drove me mad

    Pointless killing imho

They can but rarely do if you leave them alone.

The bites usually don't amount to much.
