ISA Question

Hopeing someone can give me a bit of advice.

I have £2000 to put into my ISA, I called them (CIS) up for more info on what type I have and they said its a stocks and shares ISA.

They asked me where I wanted my money, UK market or European market, before I decided I thought I would ask here if anyone has any suggestions?

You need to understand more about the type of investment you are making here. For a stocks and shares ISA there are hundreds of funds (probably thousands, actually), with the different providers. Also, is it a Maxi or Mini ISA, and what are the funds charges and performance via CIS?

Were you wanting it to be in cash, with interest paid, or are you happy investing it in stocks and shares? If so, then what is the risk level that you'd be happy with?

Lots of questions, sorry, but you need to be sure of what your money is doing!

  • Make sure you look into the risks of each type of investment. European more risky, ie capital movement can be greater up and down. Also when do you need the money, the longer you have before you need it the more risk you can take. Lots of questions you need to ask and find something you understand and are comfortable with.

If its your first investment start somewhere safer like fixed interest securities or commerical propertry etc.
