People trying to get credit at Gran's address

Hi,

my Gran was recently taken into hospital after a bit of a downturn since having a stroke. She will be home fairly soon thankfully.

My wife and have been to her house to clean it before she comes home. I found some mail addressed to two other people at her address and opened them.

Both of them were for new look store cards (declined thankfully).

Is there anything I can do to report this as I am sure it is some kind of fraud? I had a look on Facebook and a name matched the locality of my Gran. I know I can't jump to conclusions and have no proof, but feel this is a pretty low act.

Interested to hear if anyone has ideas or experience of this.

Thanks

Allan

What about any children / younger persons in the immediate family?

Would they have done such a thing?

People have been known in the past to use grandparents as guarantors on loans for example...

    Hi Allan

She could register her details with CIFAS so that extra checks need to be carried out if credit is applied for at that address. It costs £20 for 2 years. Bear in mind that it can increase application times for credit if she wanted to apply for herself.
