Apologies, but I am not 'jumping the gun' as you say. If you know anything about mental health, you would understand my feeling like this and my 'preparing for the worst' is inherently due to my illnesses. Although I appreciate others advising me not to worry, saying this to a mentally ill person is like telling someone in a wheelchair to get up and walk.

Also, FYI the reason I am posting is because I am currently in the process of renewal.

I would say I understand how mental health works... And if you read my post you would see this in what I said. I don't get why you would need to renew twice in one year...

It is up to you the claimant to request a home visit or a taxi to the medical centre, Normally a GP letter is required for this to happen... If your mental health is soo bad as you described, You might not even need a face to face assessment. I was given a 5 year award based on mental health without a face to face. All i'm saying is don't jump the gun and go straight to the decision when you haven't even started yet... If you think you will fail it will just cause your anxiety to get a great deal worse over the coming months, I know this from experience. So the best thing to do is prepare, Yes, But don't prepare for the outcome until you actually get it.
  • Hi there , my husband award runs out next month , we had to make a new claim and start all over again . Sent letter off and had assessment 2 weeks later . Get a text 2days after saying they have everything they need and we will hear soon . Although the lady we had was horrible and was trying to trip him up like he was lying
