Morning all, it is quite hot here.
I wasn't well over the weekend, just one of those mean, nasty summertime bugs. I sill feel very sneeze and snuffle so am going to stay home as I work in a massive open plan office, one person with a bug means 20 people off work.also I feel horrible.
I'm just going to potter I think, not up to anything requiring brainpower.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone,
Hope you all had a nice weekend.
On Saturday my GF and I took a trip into Glasgow to get my phone fixed however they said I've to phone their customer helpdesk (which I was on the call for over an hour) but all is fixed now. The Mrs has bought a Groupon thing for Harvester so we used that while in Glasgow and the food was ok, nothing astounding. We then went home and were in bed for 7pm, watching the TV.
Yesterday was lazy day again, I managed to go to the gym and then we watched the video from her brothers wedding we were at recently followed by a family dinner. So after a relaxing weekend I'm ready to seize the week ahead.
Jackie - Well done on what you raised, a great amount and I'm glad the weekend went well for you and your family.
Dumpling - I'm always one for experimenting to so I would say make the new recipe. Be sure to give us a review, haha.
Redruby - Good luck today. I'm sure they'll be just as nervous (if that's the right word).
Ancientofdays - Get well soon.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Its going to be another hot day, U have left the sitting room curtains part drawn to try and keep the room cool.
Washer on, once I have done the Monday Clean and remade the bed, will have tea in the garden and then jiust might do a bit more panting and weeding. I watered the garden heavily last night, it was very dry.
Booked the sailing for our holiday next year, so thats the accommodation and travel sorted. We paid the deposit on the sailing the remainder will be taken from the bank 8 weeks before we go. I have to pay the balance of the accommodation at the same time. Its a case of every penny is a prisoner from now on. I hope the euro exchange rate increases a bit before we go. I will be doing a comparision on MSE to find the best rate.
I did think about opening a Nationwide account and putting cash in there to draw whilst we are away. I do not want to carry large amounts of cash with us. We have a branch in Melton next time I am in I will go in and have a chat with them.
Time to go the washer has just finished, will put the washing on the line and get on with the cleaning.0 -
Hi everyone,
Well done Jackie, Hester, I hope the last few days aren't too bad, although knowing what some teachers are like, I'm not holding my breath. I worked in school admin once upon a time for the hours and although many teachers were efficient and appreciative some were breathtaking in their incompetence and sheer arrogance.
I'm starting a new project, a lightweight dressing gown for Ds's fiancee for the honeymoon. For those of you who watched sewing bee it is like the one Charlotte made. I'll be using Liberty fabric so I must be careful.
We looked after DS' cat for the weekend while they went up to Yorkshire with friends, she's no trouble except that we have to remember she's around when we open doors and it was quite hot not being able to keep the patio doors open this weekend.
I'm back on the no carbs with a vengeance after relaxing on our own week in Yorkshire. I've got DS' fiancee's hen do this weekend so I know that will be a heavy weekend, luckily I don't drink alcohol so I won't compound the problem with that.0 -
Morning all
JackieO - well done on raising so much!
It's already a scorcher here, normally I would love this and be out in the garden sunbathing, but at 9 months pregnant I'm not quite feeling so enthusiastic about the heat
Feeling a bit restless and unsure what to do today. OH has my car so I'm kinda stuck home all day. At moment my only plans are bouncing on my birthing ball! :rotfl:
OS wise - WM has been on twice and both loads are on the whirly, DW been emptied and refilled with breakfast things. I may hoover and dust later if I can be bothered. Lunch will be leftover dinner from yesterday.
Have a good day all x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Moving all
Just sitting having a cuppa and a read through.
Glorious down here on Kent coast, going for bike ride later to Margate for an ice cream with a friend.
Cold roast chicken for dinner night, with whatever veg comes off the lottie. Cooking for some family coming back from holidays, it's always appreciated when they do for us.
Have a good day everyone.Carolbee0 -
Afternoon everybody,
Cloudy here today but at least its stopped drizzling and its not cold, always a bonus, its always cool downstairs due to the thick stone wallsWe did use our bbq for tea last night though.
I have ordered a new GForeman grill, seem to have got it at a decent price.DS2 uses it a lot and our old one had lost its non stick so things were sticking and it was really hard to clean.Got some grill bags which were recommended with it.
Not much happening here really, hence the lack of posts.DGD had her last day at preschool on Friday so she 'felt a bit sad' but she said her teachers have told her to pop in and let them know how she gets on at big school which seemed to brighten her up,its a big step as I know from working in various Reception classes.
A beef joint for tea, which we didnt use yesterday, might just do it with chips for DH & DS1,as DS2 and I arent eating spuds etc.I had to buy a new pair of jeans at the weekend as mine are all now looking too big :jI never actually weighed myself for some unknown reason when I started the BS diet but I think I've lost a stone now and can def tell with my clothes.Certainly cant afford all new so I may have to get the sewing machine out and alter some things
Well done JackieO to you and your daughter.
Flutterby-don't envy you being 9mths pregnant in July.My DS2s birthday was yesterday and when he was born it had been the highest/dryest temp for a few years, phew
Have a good afternoon everybody xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Yay just got in after being at my friends for the day, then back to give my DGS their snack after school.Had a lovely lunch even though it was hot, we had a beef casserole with new potato's and green beans and fresh fruit salad, and she gave me a lot of odd balls of wool for the charity blankets, and bless her donated £15.00 to our RFL fund as well. She has been my friend for well over 47 years She was my youngest Dds childminder when she was tiny :)A lovely lady who I am proud to call my oldest friend.
Just had a nice refreshing shower as its really a bit too hot here at the moment, and I wanted to cool down a bit.
Tonight its feet up and relax for me
Cheers chums
