Would you say splitting the trip to 10 days in Thailand and 10 days in Perth is a better experience?

No. Spend all of this trip in SE Asia, with not too much rushing about. I doubt that an infant would appreciate being continually carted around.

Cancel your flights and go somewhere within Europe . I think with how you are viewing Thailand I have no idea why you booked it in the first place.

Another question - my wife wants to buy a new breast pump - is it worth buying it in Thailand or this would come with germs and insects in the box? (or simply comes as a FAKE product which is highly likely, right?)

Stop putting "right?" at the ends of your sentences. If you are sure it is right, then why are you asking?
    It's a poor habit. Desist.
As to your constant insults to the Thai people. Grow up. Travel is supposed to broaden the mind. Does not appear to have worked with you.

If you need a diversion from thailand there is always vietnam on a relatively short flight and right now it is visa free :)

Visa free [exempt] for a visit of 15 days or less. Arrival and departure days both count against that 15 days.

Perth perhaps a bit cool at this time of year. We went in November.

We have been umpteen times and never been scammed.

How do you know? The best scams go unnoticed.;)

Why are you taking a baby to Thailand and all that it entails?

If this thread isn't a windup then I'll be surprised.

Have you considered holidaying in the Uk , you seem determined not to like Thailand , and as such you arent going to enjoy it

I think your biggest problem is carting a baby around these places!
