Coverplan Hemel Hempstead

I have been going through claims for recovering PPI payments taken by my bank and packaged bank account payments but while going through my paperwork I have come across payments taken by Coverplan Hemel Hempstead which I suspect are for PPI but I have no idea what for; I know they're not related to my bank account or credit card but other than that I don't know. Can anyone help with how I can find out what this might have been for and/or how I might see if I have a claim for recovering the payments made?

Thanks
Partentus

Sounds like an extended warranty you purchased.
    Not PPI.

You need to complain if you feel it was miss-sold, you don't claim anything.

Coverplan (now Whateverhappens) is an extended warranty you would have purchased in store when you bought something from what is now the DSGi group - there are some reasons in the article below why it might be a bad thing (ignore the profit one, that's not a miss-sale reason)

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Thanks for your responses, I'll see if I can put in a complaint and take it from there.

And from now make sure you get a grip on your finances and regularly check your bank statements and make sure you understand every payment on there. If your paying for something you don't need then cancel it immediately.

Plus in the future make sure you fully understand what financial products you are signing up to and avoid agreeing to things that won't be useful to you.
