New leather 3 piece suite (after DFS rubbish)

Hi all

I need to replace a rubbish DFS leather suite that is 3 years old but don't want to be caught out again buying something that will not last. I knew I should not have bought it but I was daft and trusted them

Does anyone have any recommendations of companies that are worth going to?

I have seen an on-line supplier for furniture but I want to see what I am buying first.

Thank you

Look for something Italian made if you can. Their furniture seems better made and won't fall apart as quickly as their cars. Although I've never owned all the Italian marques.....

Try Sofology, I found that their sales staff have been properly taught to know what types of leather are actually real leather (if you are after a proper leather suite then it needs to be either Aniline or Semi Aniline).
Ask Sofology sales staff about these and they will be able to explain the difference and what is most suitable for you.
You will also find that they leave you along to browse without pouncing on you every 5 minutes. They don't have Sale prices, just reasonable prices for what they sell.
I don't work for or have anything to do with Sofology, I am just a satisfied customer who trawled all the furniture stores armed with the knowledge I needed, only to be told differently in all of the other stores except Sofology. One store even tried to tell me that Bonded Leather was the best leather..............when in fact Bonded Leather contains almost no leather at all and is mainly PVC.

I have to say I have a leather DFS sofa which needs replacing now as the frame is dropping. I'm really reluctant to replace it because it's so comfortable.
As it is 12 years old I feel I've had my money's worth out of it!
This is a 'coated type' cream leather not aniline or semi aniline because I don't want dark brown or black.
Though having worked with leather in the past I guess maybe I am better at spotting decent styles. Or maybe DFS have gone down hill in the last 10 years?

What's your budget? Quality leather isn't cheap. Find a proper furniture store and go and have a look and talk to the staff about the differences between a £300 and £3000 leather sofa.

We have a Duresta 'Spitfire' suite. Not cheap but the quality is easy to see.
