Santander Ex-Bankrupt Lending

Had a current acc (everyday) with Santander for ten years.
Had a DRO and then just seen on their mortgage lending criteria that : if a client has ever been bankrupt they will be declined.
Whereas TSB for example state 'in the last 6 years' which seems fair.
would these probably mean Santander won't give credit cards ect to ex bankrupts too then ? Or just mortgages ?

Do they ask the question on the mortgage application?
If yes you will have to answer truthfully.
If they don't how will they find out unless you owed them money under your bankruptcy (after 6 years).0 -
They do ask yes. I wouldn't apply for a mortgage with them, but I would like a chance to be able to get a loan/overdraft/CC in 6 years.
I guess they're much stricter for mortgages ? So I shouldn't be ruled out for lesser lending0 -

My reply is in relation to Alliance & Leicester which Santander took over. When I defaulted back in 2008 they not only kept my current account open but provided an overdraft. Without them, surviving the financial crisis would have been a lot harder.
My history with the bank covers their whole history starting with National Girobank and it appears to me that each transition has not affected how they treat customers. Your past performance with the bank counts for a lot.0
