Turkey - what happens if we can't fly?

My SO and I are off to Antalya, Turkey in September. With the recent threats, what happens if we cannot fly? Is this something covered by insurance, or is that just natural disasters? I'm not sure on where we stand if anything does happen?

If the FCO advises against travel, your airline will cancel the flight and offer you an alternative destination, it is not normally covered by an insurance policy. If the FCO do not advise against travel and you choose not to fly, then you will lose your money. The UK government wants to keep on the good side of the Turkish government and it would have to be bad to advise against travel altogether, the Irish government who are less concerned at staying on the right side of the Turks, issued advice on Saturday against all but essential travel despite the risk being exactly the same for British and Irish tourists!
