Built Under Oven Advice Please

I'm in need of a new electric built under oven. Because I'm no longer able to kneel down to clean an oven I'm looking at catalytic ovens. I would particularly need one with the catalytic panels on the back and top as those areas are the areas I find it impossible to clean, although all round would be great.

Here is my problem, the current oven I have is 70cm high and that is all the space I have to play with. Single ovens all seem to be 60cm which would leave me with a 10.5cm gap. Most double ovens which is what mine is appear to be higher then 70cm. Could anyone give any advice about models that would meet my hight restrictions?

Also I have seen plenty of what are called easy clean ovens that are fitted with easy clean enamel oven linings. Has anyone got any experience of one of these and are they as easy to clean as claimed? Are they worth having?

I've spent hours looking at ovens going round in circles getting no where.

Help please!
Thanks

Hi, my last cooker which I got second hand seemed to have a self cleaning function. It seemed to turn any spills into a powdery black ash which just wiped off really easily.
After advice on the OS forum, my new oven is going to be put higher up rather on the lower level, purely with a view to using in the future when my knees give up the ghost!
Just looked up my cooker and it did, indeed have self cleaning catalytic oven liners. Just shows that they must work to a degree because I didn't actually know about this feature. I just discovered by accident that it was really easy to clean.

  • Not just when your knees give up the ghost, I want a high oven so I don't have to bend down to battle the turkey - the number of times I've thought I'm going to drop something!!
