If it makes you feel good, buy it. If you can stretch & afford it, buy two. It is often blimming difficult to find clothes that give you that confidence - you have, so Grab It, love it & have wonderful times in it.
Do not let it age in a cupboard but On You - dress it down if you must, but don't let that feeling good in your own skin in this smashing dress get away!0 -
Go for it, when you find something you love you should always get it. As DigForVictory said, get it in a size (or two, depending on how much you want to lose) smaller as well and then you'll still have it when you've lost weight.
Most of my friends have very different styles so it's not unusual to see us out with a range of clothing from jeans and a t-shirt to a dressy dress so go with whatever you're comfortable with.0 -
eek HAND WASH ONLY.....
...which would be a problem for me and my general hatred of all things laundry.
on the other hand only £70 to feel fabulous?0 -
It's lovely and if I were a few sizes smaller I would buy it. Wear it during the day, with flat sandals such as those metallic jewelled ones - very pretty and a casual bag. For evenings dress it up with heels, a dainty clutch bag and a fine 'pashmina'. You could have 2 completely different looks from one dress.
If you can afford it and you would definitely wear it, then get it !0 -
Thanks for all advice and opinions! Sorry I didn't get back sooner, my dog was PTS recently & then the cat got worse & I had to let her go too
I wouldn't be out with friends or anything, as I only have one & only see him in the gym! I didn't get it in the end (it was very well made & felt amazing) but it just looked too over the top, and denim jackets seem to cut me off in the middle & make me look bigger.
I ended up with another, that is slightly shorter so needs tights but is casual so looks good with an open black hoodie jacket to hide the arms (has the drawstring type v neck & is much more casual)
I do still love it & if I had the arms would definitely get it for any nights out, but I guess by then it wouldn't fit! Thanks tho everyone x
And ty Quizzical as that made perfect sense0 -

At £70 I'd be getting my sewing machine out and making one myself :rotfl:I'm back..:D

Handwash only puts me off, or apple-shaped me would be buying one too! Generally, I think you could get away with it in most work places. I mean, I wouldn't wear it down a mine or packing peas, but in a sit down job you can get away with slightly-more-formal-than-necessary. Dress for the job you want and all that.Mortgage

I really don't think you'd get enough wear from it basing it on what you said about your lifestyle and the fact that you're losing weight so it won't fit for long anyway. It's not as if you had an occasion in mind when you were going to wear it.
I'd suggest you just focus on the weightloss and then you'll have loads more choice of what you can buy and wear.0 -
Defs fine for day to day wear:j:j:j:j0

It is definitely good for the day time and you don't necessarily need anything to cover your arms ( of course until you wish to do so )
And if you want that dress so badly and you can afford it, then just grab it. Even after you will lose your weight, you will find people saying , "don't buy too much as you might increase your weight again" !0
