    One more Redx :)

The letter received, would it enclose all details of evidence that the firm would have.

The letter received, the 1st at the moment has 2 photos - one of fromt of car and one of the back with the number plate visible. It was night time and the photos are pitch black. Infact the only visible bits are the lights on the car and also the number plate. Everything else is pure black and you cannot see a silhouette of the shape of car even to identify the make or model nor can you see if there is anyone in it

Basically, is this all the evidence they have or do they hold any back

It does not matter what "evidence" parking lie do or do not have. POFA 2012 does not exist in Scotland so only the driver could be liable. If you never tell them who the driver was they cannot make a claim against him or her.
They can never make a claim against the keeper because there is no law or mechanism that allows them to do this.

You are overthinking this. Put any correspondence you get about this in a drawer and forget about it until five years have passed.
In the unlikely event that you get any 'phone calls about this, ignore them as well.

If you get one of these, by the time five years is up you should be able to heat your home for free.

Never had to deal with this before but some of the stories you read about how intimidating some of the correspondence can be and what can happen to your personal situation can be frightening

Again, thanks to Redx and Fruitacake

those are NOT conventional passport or holiday style photos

they are ANPR camera photos and are supposed to be as you see them , black apart from the VRM on show, that is what they are supposed to show

as for evidence, no you wont get any further evidence until you ask for it in the pre-court stage , if it goes to court

remember, they have to make their case to a judge, including the evidence that backs up their case, such as anpr photos and anything else like landowner contracts , signage etc

all you have to do is dispute the invoice and demand to see the evidence which they must give you and the court too

do not over think this , its a simple case of them sending out a money demand, an invoice, for a "service" , you dispute that a case exists and you say no money is owed , that is the standoff and only a court of law can decide the outcome , ie:- decide the legal standing of the case

more on ANPR here on pranksters blogsite, one of many I might add

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/how-parking-operators-use-anpr.html

nothing can happen to your personal status until a court case and judgment

if you lose and pay the judgment promptly , its over and done with

its only a parking invoice, not operation yewtree , nothing to be frightened about

something that is "frightening" is an idiot with a grudge charging down a pedestrian walkway in a heavy lorry mowing people down , THAT is frightening !

It can be a shopping trolley with your number plates on in the dark they will still issue a charge if you don't pay or go over time etc.
If they have your vrn, they will pursue in the hope you are daft enough to pay up without knowing the rules.

As Redx says you are over thinking this.

McCoy - you are grossly overthinking this!

Instances of PPCs taking meaningful action against anyone in Scotland are like hen's teeth and successful actions are somewhat more unheard of - only one IIRC and in a very specific context that was quite different to the vast majority of cases. That said, some PPCs do use shonky debt collectors who phone to try and scare payment out of people where they can identify them but so far, PE are not one of them. Either way, they can safely be told to do-one.

Please consult the Pre-POFA letter chain thread here for a fair idea of what to letters to expect from PPC/debt collector and just file and forget them until the chain is complete.

That really is all there is. :)

Would you be aware of how many letters and a timescale there is likely to be if ignored

You are likely to get 5 or 6 letters at approximately monthly intervals.

I have a drawerful of such letters in sets of 5 or 6 as the vehicle of which I am the keeper has a driver who seems to attract the attention of various private parking companies the length and breadth of the country. All of the letters have been ignored.

There has never been any telephone contact, but the letters threaten ever increasing dire consequences of not paying up.

The letters mostly concern parking 'incidents' in Scotland - but occasionally from elsewhere - especially Motorway Service Areas in England.

The driver would appear to have a habit of completely ignoring the new-fangled parent & child space 'regulations' as the extra width allows easier exit and entrance to the vehicle.

The driver is not disabled enough to qualify for a Blue Badge which has no legal standing in private parks anyway.

I agree with the other posters who have suggested that you are overthinking this.

    Ignore and rest easy.
