A pound stretching maternity

I'm feeling quite proud of myself this morning. I bought some Mamas and Papas over the bump jeans on ebay a few months ago, and realised when I went to wear them that they were long length (I'm somewhere petite and regular). I'd put them in the wardrobe and 'forgot' about them. I've not got to the point where under the bump trousers are no good and I was struggling with jeans. I was starting to browse the online shops for nice over the bump jeans and then remembered these that were too long. Now, I can't sew to save my life. Not a chance. It did cross my mind to put them back on ebay and buy another pair with the money. Well today, I actually tried them on and other than the length they fit nicely. So, I rolled them up slightly and they look really good. No extra money spent! :money:
Oh, and the jeans were less than £5 to start with (including delivery!).Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Good work on the jeans. You'll be able to sell them after too! It's so nice being comfortable isn't it. I'm in the jeans only if I'm going in public stage. They are too uncomfortable. Dodge leggings and shorts for me. I must stop ordering parcels the post man keeps catching me looking awful!emergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

That's good re:the jeans MrsSave, saves a few pennies, and you don't have to go out and buy them, you had them at home all along!
I'm so pleased you slept well. I had an awful nights sleep! :rotfl: For starters I couldn't get to sleep, my brain didnt't want to switch off, then when I did nod off I was up every hour or so either too hot or needing the loo. Then at 5am I woke up to a horrendous leg cramp, after not having one for weeks! I wanted to cry it hurt so much, and my leg has been super sore all day since!!!
NSD here too0 -
Leg cramp is just horrible!! Definitely one of my least favourite pregnancy symptoms. I had one with ds when I was in the final stages of labour with him. I think I made more fuss about that than about the fact I was pushing a rather large baby out :rotfl:
Well today has been a nsd. Ds has been a little emotional and grumpy, but I think it's a mixture of being overtired from school and the fact he has spent the past 2 days with his grandparents........he is always more of a handful after spending time with either of them!!
The furniture has arrived for the nursery. I just need to wait for Dh to put it together now! Then I can start washing all the baby clothes.....so exciting!! Will have to dry them indoors as it's a secret from others what we're having!
I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow, so must remember to ask for my matb1 form. I think they'll measure my stomach too, so we'll see how this little one is growing.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well done on the NSD.
Poor DS, I think its hard for kids to get back into a routine again. DD always gets tired and grumpy Weds/Thurs. xx0 -
Hope all goes well with the midwife apt MrsSave. I have another one next week for my bump measurement. I will be 34 weeks :eek: I got my MATB1 form from the midwife at my 25 week appointment.
Poor DS, I feel tired and grumpy by the end of the week too! :rotfl:0 -
Thank you Eyebright. I *think* everything should go well with the midwife as other than the usual trouble sleeping, aches and cramps this pregnancy seems to be going pretty smoothly. No big surprises I hope.
Ds has woken in a very good mood this morning. Better than me anyway :rotfl: A bad night sleep last night, was awake for hours. Then within less than an hour of drifting off Dh gets up and walks straight into the boxes with the nursery furniture in. The positive is that because I've got my midwife app this afternoon, I can't collect ds from school which means Dh is finishing work early. The plan is to have a nap after the midwife app as Dh will be looking after ds!
Today won't be a nsd. I'm going to do the food shop this evening and I also need to pop in to town this morning. I have a couple of little jobs to do that can't be done this evening and will pick up the chocolate 2 for £7 tins from Tesco the same time (I'm paranoid they'll run out by this evening!!! :rotfl: ).
My budget for groceries this evening is £35. No need to put petrol in the car this week :j I filled it up last Thursday and it is only just under 3/4 full! Woohoo!!

Morning,
Hopefully the stubbed toe will motivate DH to get it all made up for you.

The midwife appointment went well. My bump is measuring a little big, but nothing that needs worrying about. Blood pressure and everything else was perfect. :j The midwife did weigh me, though! I was dreading that bit! It wasn't as bad as I thought, and at 28 weeks I have gained around 10lbs, much better than last time. The midwife didn't mention anything about my weight after weighing me so I figure she's happy with that! I also got my matb1 form, which I'll take into work next week. Fingers crossed I'll be hearing from hr within a few weeks then, though they have said I need to write a letter about when I intend finishing, etc (I'm pretty sure I've already done it and sent it, will have to check and query whether they've received it).
I like the idea of stubbing his toe motivating Dh to build the furniture. I have half mentioned that to him :rotfl: We'll see what the weekend brings!
Tesco shop was done this evening. I managed to get yellow stickered bread (including my favourite multi seed for 31p instead of around £1.20). 3 big loaves and a little one all in the freezer. I also picked up a pack of 4 fizzy water yellow stickered because the outside plastic that holds the 4 bottles together was damaged and held together by sticky tape. I drink loads of fizzy water, and that brand. £1.05 for 4 bottles instead of £1.50 and I'm sure the water inside will taste no different! Total Tesco spend was a little over £31.
I also ordered a few bits online from Aldi this morning. They've got their baby event starting, so stocked up on baby wipes as well as a couple of other bits. I spent just over £11 there with free delivery.
I also popped with ds to the shops this morning to pick up some wrapping paper and a Christening card. 5 present wrapped, 4 for this weekend and 1 for next weekend. Im so useless at wrapping though, one in particular looks awful! We also picked up the chocolate tins that were 2 for £7. Dh has hidden them away from me so that I ain't eat them before Christmas :rotfl:
All in all, around £50 spent today, but with that including the weekly shop I'm pretty happy!
I've managed a couple of surveys. I made 35p on one site and 90p on another. There's still a while before I can cash out on either, but I'll keep going!
Tomorrow is going to be busy. We've got a funeral to attend during the afternoon, and then Dh and I are out on our date night tomorrow night. Out for food with Tesco vouchers, and then watching the new Bridget Jones film (also with Tesco vouchers!).
My eBay toys from 3monkeys arrived today, I'm very impressed with them. That's a few birthday gifts sorted!
I can't believe it's 11:20 already. Bed time I think!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Husbands pay has gone in today. I must admit I do like him being paid weekly because it's nice watching it build up throughout the month! My payday is next Friday. It'll be good to know exactly what I'm getting over the next couple of months. Still no sign of any extra work, which is nice in 1 way, but a bit of extra money would be good!
I've checked the accounts this morning and they're all looking good. I've got another 10 days before the Tesco credit card statement comes out, and I'm currently at £643.75. I really want to keep it under £800 this month. I'll have 1 more food bill and petrol going on it, and then any other little bits that I buy.
We've got a busy day today, this morning I need to sort out things for ds staying at my mother in law tonight, his swimming kit, his school clothes/bag, write some birthday cards, sort out clothes for our night out tonight (I'll have all of about 5 minutes to change later) and clothes for a funeral (probably about 10 minutes to change into them after taking ds to school!). I also need to print out the Tesco codes for the restaurant and work out how we collect our cinema tickets. Whilst printing I'm going to print out the birthday planner sheets I've got ready for 2017 and then Pop them in my file.
