Dishwasher-how do you stack yours?

Just realised I have posted this thread twice, apologies.About 30 min after I had posted last night,it still hadn't appeared on the DIY index,so I thought it must have been lost in the ether.
Not a life-changing question,I know, but it is an issue that OH and I sometimes lock horns over,so I am curious as to the orientation people put plates and bowls into their dishwasher.
Any dishwasher I have ever owned, the slots/spikes that bowl and plates rest in,lean backwards slightly. When I pack the dishwasher,I have all plates/bowls facing the front/outwards,so the back leaning back a little. My OH,on the other hand, places everything "face-down".
This often results in plates needing to be re-washed because ,I think, the dirty surfaces has not even got wet.The way I pack, things never/rarely need a re-wash,but I can't really think of a scientific reason why this would be.Is there an explanation? Is it to do with the direction the arms spray water?
Thank you for humouring me on a Saturday night

My spacers are upright, not angled backwards.
I stack everything facing the middle of the machine - front of plates and bowls facing the water.
It makes no sense to me to stack the plates 'backwards' - that would annoy me intensely, I think.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

This is an indication that he knows how the sprayers work.0 -

Every dishwasher I've ever owned (had a few) spray upwards....0

Oh.Well I knew that.Thought you were going to talk about the angle of spray or something.
The way I think ,if say, plates, are angled face down onto the spray arms, the water would have to go up at a funny angle to wet between the plates (almost backwards).About the only plate that would get washed is the one on the "bottom" of the pile.
Of course,it is all very clear in my head, but it may not be right, and I can't describe to OH why I think it is better, other than the fact that when I stack the dishwasher, things rarely need re-washing,whereas when he does it,there is a higher rate of dirty dishes being returned

Of course, if you wash dishes twice they will be cleaner. Same principle if you have duplicate posts???0

I might be a bit thick but how do you do that? Every dishwasher I've owned has a rack in which the plates sit virtually upright.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Sorry Paradigm. Not so much "face down",as facing the back of the dishwasher. When I put plates in dishwasher, the top/eating surface, facesoutward toward the door of the machine, when OH does it,they face the back of the machine.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
