Hi
Inevitably the lawnmower cannot cut upto right against the fence etc in our garden. I have a strimmer but am so tired or having to open the bottom compartment to feed new string every 2 mins.

Google suggested some angled lawn sears. Are these any good or is there any other alternative? I saw some electric hand sears but not sure how good they r....

Get a bump feed head and use some better line. Also, get used to not hitting the fence with the strimmer line. It'll last ages. Strimmers are much faster than hand shears!

Run the strimmer parallel to the fence or slightly angled in using the guard to pull the grass in.

I've got the same problem. I bought more expensive strimmer line but it still breaks quite a lot and the bump feed quit working shortly after I bought the strimmer so it's a real pain having to stop and sort it out. I'm getting tempted to spray a thin line of pathclear or something similar along the fences.
