    Pioneer22, it's getting the time off to do the taxiing that's causing the problems. I'm glad to see that other people think that my bosses are inflexible because they really are. I've never heard of anyone else being under these kind of constraints. They did try to make us sign a contract a couple of years ago to restrict who we could work for but there was uproar. Now I think they're just going about it another way.....

    Call in sick with a generic sickness/diarrhoea issue.


    They are so common (in real life) that it won't be questioned and they won't be surprised to see you the next day.


    Just hope you get the job and don't have to do it all over again in the near future.


    Wouldn't use a funeral. In my opinion it's immoral to lie about the death of close ones and what happens if they ask for more details? Family members can only die once and you might genuinely need to attend a funeral at some point.
