some people hang art, others buy wine.
I have some mining stocks but its not as fun as a little gold bar or coin.
I don't see any harm in experimenting with a small element of my portfolio but above really helpful as a starter.

Is that "few thousand" the price you paid?
If so, you may well be very disappointed with what you get offered should you wish to sell it as the majority of jewellery has an enormous mark up on the value of the metal and stones in it.0
