My neighbour has installed their TV aerial on my pole

Hello,

Hope someone can help...

I live in a leasehold flat and I am on the top of the three storey building. My new neighbour has attached their TV aerial on to the small amount of space on my TV aerial pole in between my aerial and resting it on top of the chimney.

I am concerned that in bad weather this is going to knock against and damage the chimney and possibly my aerial above.

The aerial is out of view and so maybe they do not even know it has installed in such a way

My question is... What to do? Should I ask them to take it down and remove?

Please help :)

Get a photo of what it looks like.

Perhaps let the owner of the building know?

If you actually own the pole then ask them to remove it .

If it has been installed by contractor, the neighbours may not be aware of the installation, so perhaps mention it to them, so they can ask the installer to put it right.

If the aerial is loose it could also result in someone suing for injury caused by it's falling from the roof.
  • I have uploaded some pictures. My neighbours are not being forthcoming about removing the aerial. I am really worried that the lack of clearance between my TV aerial above and the chimney below (which their TV aerial seems to be resting on) is going to cause damage as soon as the wind starts to blow...

Looks fine to me. I certainly wouldn't worry about it. It would take a hell of a lot of force to knock a chimney pot off.

Still a cheek to erect on someone else's pole without permission.

I'd just leave it, to be honest, it really hasn't been fitted poorly and as long as it's not adversely affecting your own reception you will be keeping the peace.

    Count yourself lucky.
A few years ago, I had a neighbour who appropriated the use of our whole aerial by cutting us off and connecting the cut cable to his own TV!

We mainly use Sky and only discovered the "theft" when we came to use Freeview a while later.

The neighbour was completely unapologetic and only disconnected the cable, leaving me to reconnect it to our TV myself!
