Holiday help for solo traveller

Quite fancy a cruise or spa break - sometime between late October and mid-November. I'm flexible with location and timing, I just want something to de-stress. Maybe five nights or so? Travelling from London on my own, which seems to be the kicker. All of the deal sites seem to be for couples only, with no single rates available.

I had a look on Treatwell for UK spa breaks like Champneys, but everything is priced per person with a two-person minimum. I am but one person. Same with Secret Escapes for foreign short breaks.

On the cruising front, there's a four-night cruise from Southampton with a balcony here for £734: http://www.pocruises.com/j617/?search=true Is that a reasonable ball-park? It's been so long since I've been on holiday I'm not sure how much to budget.

Any bright ideas? I really don't care where I go, as long as it's safe for lone females. Really lacking in inspiration!

Cruise and Maritime offer single accommodation on their cruises and have sailings from Tilbury on some of their ships. We went on a 3 night cruise with them last year and enjoyed it.

Consider putting a trip together yourself.
Flights and hotels in early November can be good when the children have gone back to school.
Some hotels with Spas have spa packages or just pay as you go.

If you fancy sunnier go in October but return before the school half term starts about 22nd October.

http://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/destinations/holiday-types/spa-breaks BA offer pay a deposit and the balance before you go.

Use skyscanner to get an idea of flight prices but don't book through them. If you see easyJet flights that you want, book through easyJet.

With hotels Google for their own website and look for spa special prices. Use https://www.hotelscomparison.co.uk https://www.hotelscombined.co.uk for an idea of prices. https://www.booking.com is good for reviews.

Some luxury hotels may have some rooms with not so good views that they may sell cheaper, but if you're in the Spa or pool that may not bother you.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

None of the Cruise and Maritime dates this year really work for me, but I will consider for next year. :j

I had considered putting a trip together myself, but with everyone going bust at the moment, does this make it more difficult for me insurance wise? I have basic travel insurance from my bank, unsure if I'd need to take out a more extensive policy.

Thanks for the reminder to check I'm not travelling during the school holidays...! I had completely forgotten.

Will have a closer look at Just You - some of the dates look promising. :j

Accorhotels, BA, easyJet and Ryanair etc aren't.

I think most of English schools are off 17th October this year - Welsh 24th - I have booked time off for 17th but holidays to almost everywhere are expensive. Might stay in UK.

    DIY.

Most European places are safe for females as long as you use your common sense.

I've been to Copenhagen, Split, Paris, Seoul solo. I'm planning trips to Krakow and Madrid solo sometime.

I wouldn't recommend Copenhagen. Absolutely wonderful place but I feel like it's better with someone. A friend who went recently solo also agreed.

Other cruise companies look after their singles too!
Fred Olsen springs to mind- they have travelling alone meeting on first sea day, dance hosts to dance with single travellers, hosted coffee times etc and the clientele is very friendly (the non singles I mean) You can do as much or as little as you want. I think all the cruises in brochure have a reduction on Double cabin for single occupancy- but there is a mark up. However single deals do exist.
Worth getting on the mailing list for Ocean World Travel & ROL. (Both well established travel agents who deal with cruises)
Another line that has had single deals lately isVoyages of Discovery.
