That's my issue, they haven't asked for a full structural survey, they asked for "satisfactory report" as to the crack. I ensured I had the precise wording before consulting an engineer. Had they said "a full structural survey" I would've looked into that instead.

FWIW I had the same thing with santander, I had a structural engineer do a full report on the property cost me about £600 iirc, for one issue he was charging about £200 so one of those two options should be sufficient.

You give me some hope! My buyer paid out around 500 notes for his survey he said, and he had a good sniff round the whole house. He threw up a load of minor issues (cosmetic), did yours do the same, and was it an issue? I only ask because we've already exchanged and the issue of requiring a structural survey was picked up after...and we're due to complete a week Friday. Sorry to hijack OP...

Spoke to Santander yesterday and after speaking to higher up employees it seems the bank are happy with the survey that was carried out by the engineer.

They have sent that off to the banks valuation surveyor who came the other week for his approval. That being well, things are moving. It's all about who you speak to regarding the progression and answers required.

For those in similar situations, great news. We exchanged today with a completion date next Friday.

Great news. The perseverance was well worth it :)
