Home sold, homeless.
The owner of Home we are buying has been dragging his heals with the paper work.
If we got the paperwork soon how long should it take to completion? we are cash buyers and would forego searches.
Thanks

If you received the contract tomorrow and it was correct, and if whatever pre-contract Qs you've asked came back tomorrow with satisfactory answers, and given that you are foregoing searches (and survey?) and do not require a mortgage, you could Exchange and Complete the day after tomorrow.0

Thanks all.
I am using a solicitor, I did ask him how long, pre contract questions wont be until next week, as the seller had lost his Probate paper work which he has only just sorted, taken five weeks so far.
We will be sofa surfing and squatting for a while it seems.0 -

Without wishing to be a Job's comforter, the word "probate" could mean further delays.
It can take a long time for the seller to get probate, so if it's a probate sale and it hasn't yet been granted, I fear it could take a while to get everything organised, before the vendor is in a position to proceed.A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -
He has probate just couldn't find it.
It is supposed to be in the post to his solicitors as we speak.MAYBE!!!!0 -
Ah! Probate!
Even if Probate has been granted (and the paperwork is found) there is always the possibility of delay. eg one of the Beneficiaries suddenly says they think the Executer is selling too cheaply. Or decides they want to buy the others out. Or........0
