By booking direct with Vigin you could earn flyer club miles(frequent flyer) not sure if this is would be applicable through opodo.

  • You also don't mention where you're starting from, but only 3 airlines fly between Delhi and London; British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Air India. You're unlikely to find a better price than a direct quote from an airline unless you can find a special offer, which to India is doutful as demand for seats always outstrips supply

    Good Luck

I always get cheaper booking through an agency than with the airline

  • Oops - thanks sloppychops - I missed that too!

Anneg - some agents may be able to secure block bookings at slightly reduced rates as the risk of an empty seat is passed from the airline to the agent. The question then is how much of a 'cut' the agent takes to make their own profit but booking direct cuts out the middle-man so could/should reduce the price paid by the traveller. Of course, many agents are forced to offer heavy discounts for last minute bookings as they've already paid the airline and are better off with some income than none at all

Direct flights from London (LHR or GTW) are most of the time too expensive as people wrongly think the shorter route is cheaper. Have you thought about KLM via Amsterdam. As an example KLM have great deals to Delhi from LHR at £500 + £90 taxe. I have checked with my travel agent two minutes ago and this price is valid through 14th July.
This price is available for departure 10th June and return 17th June. Minimum stay is 5 days and maximum stay is 6 months.........so what are you waiting for???

    hi all,

thanks a lot for all the messages....i did check hoodaki they are costly during dec. the problem is flights to india is always a costly affair. as in one of the post i read an article where indian skies are open for other airlines and hopefully this should reduce the price by 20% to 30% in coming yrs.

Mr warren i am booking for dec and i am getting return for 375 on virgin direct now as this looks like an off season.

i did in the past book thru opodo for my friend for zurich and they where pritty good and no additional charges after booking as someagencies do saying it was a mistake!!!!.

    cheers
