Protection with credit card purchase. We have bought a lens for the camera (£800+). After a few weeks we noticed it was loose so went back to shop who sent it off to the manufacturers. They are saying it has been dropped or banged resulting in the internal damage. but we don't recall this! in fact we have not dropped it ( you would remember wouldn't you!!) anyway the result is they won't replace it. Will the credit card protection cover this- it is a barclays platinum cand

You have the same rights against the card as against the retailer.0

Your section 75 claim would be for the original purchase. As far as I know Barclaycard don't provide their own purchase protection. Easy to claim online through Barclaycard online account and clicking on the transaction and then query it.0

It means you put in a claim if you do not get anywhere with the retailer. However, the card company will also ask for proof of the item not being fit for purpose etc. It's not an automatic payout.0
