Keepers of chickens advice

Hello all,
I have been keeping a group of 6 pekin bantams for the past few months and have been using Poultry Shield when I do the big weekly clean out. I am wondering what other people use that might be easier and hopefully cheaper for me to get hold of, because at the moment I either have to go out of my way to the nearest shop that stocks it or order online. Any advice on what others use and like would be great! Thanks:j:j

I used all sorts including Virkon S or even hibiscrub for disinfecting and then sprayed with any household fly/ant killer spray. Anything that contained permethrin/deltamethrin/tetramethrin etc. If you use this, aerate the hen house well before letting the chooks back in. Diatomaceous earth is great for killing mites or look for fullers Earth type cat litter (much the same thing). Dust it into all the crevices.
