Hot vs cold wash cost comparisons

I cannot find threads that compare hot vs cold washes using dishwashers and washing machines. Has anybody actually done a reasonably accurate table for the 'average' laundry and dish wash in various temperatures? Clearly there are different machines, wash cycles, tariffs etc, but what do people actually save using 'eco' settings, and are the results worth saving?

The manual for my AEG D/washer gives the KWh and water consumption for each it's 5 programmes, the clothes washer manual, also AEG, gives zero info.
I suspect this due to the C/washer being older.

My understanding is that in Australia, Cold wash C/ washers are the norm and washing powders are formulated for this

Washing dishes in cold water??? Not in my house. Laundry I do on the coolest temperature for the fabric. Heavily soiled items are soaked, rinsed and, if necessary, soaked and rinsed again before being washed as above.

If you are so concerned with this cost difference, have you looked into the possibility of getting solar panels? You do not have to buy them; if your roof is suitable and you are an owner occupier, you can get them free.

The most costly bit by far, is heating the water.

OK, apologies if you were not getting the responses you wanted. I doubt if anyone, with the possible exception of appliance manufacturers, would have this information but would hazard it is not worth the saving on electricity to compromise on the wash cycle purely because you would probably have to do it again. There is such a thing as false economy and, imho, washing dishes in cold water is a prime example. The closest I can offer to anything approaching assistance is this: https://www.cse.org.uk/advice/advice-and-support/how-much-electricity-am-i-using

I'm not keen on the saving aspect, we 'washing machine' everything at the appropriate temperatures, usually 90ºC and 60ºC and the dishwasher is always run hot too. I was merely curious as to how much energy/money the soap powder/liquid manufacturers are supposedly saving us if we buy 'eco' versions of their products. I know millionaires who insist on cold washing!

It has been my experience that the rich are always the first to plead poverty and, conversely, that those less well off are often the most generous. Maybe that is how the rich become rich, who knows?

Perhaps a curious member could try running hot and cold programmes with the machine plugged into an energy monitor? I would, but my washing machine is currently broken down..
