So why did the Energy Club recommend it?
When you switched to GBEnergy, it's Premium Saver tariff was the cheapest tariff on offer which combined with no exit fees and excellent feedback made it MSE CEC's Top Pick. The situation has now changed, and MSE is now recommending GBEnergy's fixed tariffs as its Top Pick. All variable tariffs are subject to change. You can change to one GB's fixed tariffs at a very small monthly increase and the price will be fixed for 12 months. Choosing a supplier and tariff has to be a personal judgement, and if you select a variable tariff you need to keep a very close eye on the market and how it is changing. You must have missed this post by MSE Laura earlier in this thread.Hi dollydiva,
As Hengus says, if a tariff comes out on top when you run a comparison, it's because it's the cheapest tariff at the time for your region and usage. We don't really recommend a particular supplier or tariff to our users, we just offer you a full market comparison so that you're able to see what you could switch to.
We do warn that a variable rate means the unit price per kWh of energy used is not fixed, and can change at any time, for example when a supplier announces price hikes.0 -

The increase takes place on 21 August - oh but you can avoid it by signing up ANOTHER 12 months onto their fixed 12 Crystal Tariff. In other words, we're holding you to ransom unless you sign up again..
Presumably, as you are an a variable tariff, you have not agreed to remain with them for any amount of time in the first place.ransom

a sum of money demanded or paid for the release of a captive.
Assuming you do not wish to take advantage of the offer to sign up to them for "ANOTHER 12 months", how much money are they demanding from you to be released? :huh:0 -
Received same letter. Checked and GB still best rate for me with crystal fixed and it has no exit fees, so not held to ransom?
Exactly the same here. They are miles cheaper than anyone else.
Those complaining about monthly readings need to move on and pay for the privilege of having higher fees and in most instances higher direct debits where the company holds your excess fees in their accounts for their own benefit!
It's a 2 minute job to email them every month and I do it at the same time I email Zog with my gas readings:D0 -

Why don't you use the Zog website to input your gas meter reading?

Ha ha I do I should have said I take the readings at the same time and then submit them on their websites:beer:0 -
Sorry to hijack a bit but can anyone direct me to somewhere I can find GB energy's tarriff information with their unit rates, just want to compare for myself as I am very happy with Ovo and want to figure out if its really worth switching. I can't seem to find on their website because I am utterly useless with technology.
