Mortgage replacement insurance

Hi all, I was just wondering of anybody coould help me? Been looking into some PPI that my wife may have had a few years back when she lived on her own and had a mortgage. The only thing we have managed to find was an insurance call mortgage repayment insurance that she had with the mortgage. Is this the same as PPI or similar and can I put in a claim? Any advise would be great.

That could be life assurance, income protection of MPPI.
