Yeah, be worth doing that and copying it to Energywatch. In my experience, middle managers run like crazy to hide things from their MD about how shabby their depts are!!!

Thanks Terry, I agree with pretty much everything you are saying there. Not sure about the final paragraph though but then I have to plead ignorance on the question of PP meters as I only deal with credit customers

It's a hard job, Lou. The electricity industry is a minefield and even the regulators and industry auditors are playing catch up on an industry they don't seem to fully understand.

I remember sitting with a rep from the industry auditors once telling him we could not force customers to change from domestic to business just because they has exceeded the average guidelines for their profile class. They thought that was acceptable even thought the customers were not trading! Thats just stupidity and thats from the people who are supposed to be monitoring everyone's compliance!

At the place I was at, there were tons of good people who really wanted to help. However, the managements idea was typical call centre...get the customers off the phone, who cares if we've helped or not! The poor people are not given the time, training or support to do a good job all the time.

The PP issue is just where BGas have been using UU to fit onstream meters. No other Supplier was doing it so when the customer changed Supplier, we had to change their meters to get around it as the meters would not bill in the Suppliers systems. Luckily, it was in the hundreds rather than thousand so less of a problem.

Same at any Supplier in my opinion, I've dealt with a few and they all have the same problems. I think it's worth noting that 1 Supplier (I won't mention) by far exceeded any other Suppliers Energywatch complaints in one month alone a while back - and it wasn't BGas.

    All the best
