Where did you buy the items from?
  • I'd have waited until end August - he's bound to have grown by then.
I thought your bits were very reasonable - our school trousers were £29 a pair! And even though they were named he still managed to loose two pairs! (Not getting changed after rugby!)
  • Be thankful he doesn't need some gawdy blazer and a straw boater!

How is your daughter getting on with the fake Uggs?

Most of the items were from the school uniform shop and the school trousers and and the school shoes / trainers were from primark
  • I bought skirt, blazer and 2 shirts for £95. Pe kit (skort, top and socks) £45. Trainers £43. The uniform, apart from skirt, has the school logo so can't buy anywhere else. The skirt also has to be bought in the same place as the school insists all girls wear the same shape of skirt.

i've 2 daughters who needed complete kit so double above.

Still shoes to get and as they both have narrow feet it will be Clark's so easily another £40+ each.

It really depends on the age of the children and whether you need to buy from the school shop or not.

Mine are 5 & 7 and it's not essential they have the logo, but DS likes the sweaters and polos. Think they are £7 each. His shorts (regular and pe) and trousers still fit so really he just needs socks (what do they do to their socks?), a couple of spare polos (£1.25 for too from @ldi), pe tshirts (ditto) and then new shoes next month. I don't buy them new bags each year.

DD has skirts and polos that fit but I did get her some trousers and a cardi in the bhs sale. She will need another cardi (she doesn't like school ones as they are sweatshirt fabric) and socks (see above) and shoes. I might get her a new book bag from the school shop as the Velcro is coming off hers.

Doesn't have to be costly for younger ones if you can choose where you buy from. Appreciate it can be wildly different for older ones with blazers and whatnot.

When it comes to socks, my sons & the washing machine have formed some unholy alliance. The articles either disappear in the wash (put 6 in get 5 or 7 back - it's fiendish I tell you) or are to be seen on the lads feet with holes in.
I have *tried* to play sock snap but now buy them by the kilo & bin them as soon as they become holed.

You've not said if any of these things have the school logo on, but for anonymous generic school stuff
School jumper £9 - yes, that matches
School polo shirt £6.50 for as pack of 3 - yes
School trousers £8x2 - good price - my lot are definitely £5 a pair cheapest now.
School shoes / plain black converse style trainers £8 - reasonable
School pe top £7 - plain? expensive, logo'ed reasonable
School pe shorts £6 - plain? expensive, logo'ed reasonable
Sports trainers £19 - what?! Double shoe price? are they studded or specialist in any way?
By & large seems reasonable but maybe review shoeing?
