I didn't answer but did a Google.

Loads of complaints this month alone. Seems they are BT,Virgin,Hotpoint,Bosch,Microsoft, depending. The number is computer so does not actually exist. They are then passing on your number as live to other scammers. They will just say Hello or ask for you by name then hang up.

I don't answer any number on my mobile unless they are in my address book.
Ditto for my landline - I have an answer phone so if they really really need to contact me they can leave a message.
