B&Q Kitchen but IKEA internal storage?

Options
I'm just wondering if anyone has used IKEA internal kitchen solutions in other kitchens?

We really like the C&L kitchen at B&Q, but want better / cheaper storage solutions from IKEA i.e the pull out larder or carousel for a corner cabinet. There are drilled holes similar to IKEA in the C&L carcasses, but does anyone know would there be issues with this?

Thanks

Ikea are really funny dimensions these days, so you would be really lucky, I'd guess.

But isnt there an Ikea kitchen to suit you instead.

I know I'm a fan, but my experience of the B&Q designers skills and atitude wasn't great and like many makes, of course, components weren't always availalbe in one delivery, from B&Q if you read some posts on here.

I've had Ikea 4 times now and will do on my next project. Good build quality, easy returns (if you're close by) no confusing prices and pretend discounts...crikey, they need to pay me commission for this!!

the ikea cabinets are deeper (they don't have a space at the back) so it's likely that the fittings would be too deep for a b&q unit, maybe worth measuring out - if it fits in the unit you can make new holes for fixings if they are different

As a regular shopper at Ikea,I often tell people that their range of drawer fittings do not fit other kitchen makes.Even inside drawer measurements are different. However,I did buy ,at £33 the 200mm pull out metal fittings for spice jars etc., as the Howdens ones came out at £100+. Had to take the back panel out of unit and re-fit it but worth the saving.

The kitchen retailers charge silly prices for internal storage and wirework. Most of the good quality cabinet fittings are made by Hafele or Blum and can be bought for a lot less from online ironmongery retailers.

    I second this.

Just nearing completion of our Ikea kitchen.

It has been so helpful being able to go to the Ikea store and pick up bits and pieces as we needed them and so easy to change our mind and return/replace things.

We also found the staff very helpful.

Our son always sings the praises of Howdens but I think he has been very surprised by our Ikea kitchen!

I actually found the Blum hinges cheaper in Ikea than I could find online.

I used ikea solid white worktops, with the modern square edge rather than roll top profile - less is more. £40 each is silly cheap and really nice quality - also 635mm instead of 618mm deep gives a better overhang. The cabs were the originals.
