Incomplete Surname in Documents

Options
Just after a bit of advice.
We are currently buying our first home and using a broker, he's sent us the life and contents insurance quotes today along with a couple of other documents he needs us to sign, but my surname is not correct...

I am Honduran and I still use my maiden name because we want to wait until I have been given my citizenship to make the change.
Which means I have two surnames (Father and Mother surname), like a double-barrelled surname I guess.
My passport displays this as my surname. So do my bank accounts, credit card, driving licence and residency permit.

I have tried to explain this to our broker from the initial meeting, but the documents are still wrong. They only display my second surname even though my passport clearly shows two surnames under the surname field.
My husband is telling to just sign the documents because he knows what he's talking about, but I would like to have all the documents correct from the get-go instead of risking the insurers not paying if anything were to happen to us because the names don't match or something... Am I being paranoid? I have already drafted a very diplomatic email asking him to amend the documents, but I have yet to send it out. I don't want to seem unreasonable, but we are paying for this so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for this.

Any advice?

I'm not clear which name is on the documents (maiden or married name) but it does not matter.

Whichever name you wish to use, just write that onto the documents, initial the change, and sign.

If/when you need to make a claim, or prove ownership of the property, simply attach copies (certified if necessary) of your original pasport and marriage certificate. This will clear up the change of name.

it is common for this to happen. Many people matty, and change their name, after buyer/registering a property, or taking out insurance etc.

as long as you can document your ID and link the names, there is no problem.

I knew I was making it too complicated! :-p
I haven't taken my husband's name. My surname is Q.M. on my passport, licence, etc, but the documents I received from the broker only show M.
The actual mortgage application is correct to the best of my knowledge, but the insurance documents are not.

As comparison, my sister is 62 and got married at age 25 (ish?!).

However at work (she's a teacher) she still uses her maiden name (Miss X), not her married name (Mrs Y).

And the house she and husband have lived in since before she married is still in her maiden name.

Her passport says Mrs Y. Same with her bank account.

This occassionally presents problems, but is resolved by showing her marriage certificate which shows both names.

G_M - the problem isn't a married name/maiden name one. The OP is Ms Double-Barrelled. Her passport says Ms Double-Barrelled. The paperwork is Ms Barrelled.

OP - ask for it to be corrected. It is currently wrong. What's the worst that can happen?

Just e-mail the broker and say "on the paperwork you have given my surname as 'barrelled'. My surname is actually 'Double - Barrelled'. Could you correct this, please?

I suspect that he has read the first half of your surname as a middle name, or that he got confused by the xpolanation of the reaons for the two parts, but all you need to do is tell him what you correct name is.

As G_M says, you could amend by hand and just initial the changes but if you are worried, thjen ask the broker to correct it. I would expect them to be able to do it very easily and it is not a big deal.

Thank you all for your comments. I have sent the documents back, he's told me he'd do his best to get them amended, but that if he couldn't do it before the cover starts, I should be able to do it straight with the insurance company.
At the moment we are waiting to hear back with the final mortgage offer which should come early next week (valuation was done on Wednesday) and I know that the mortgage in principle has my full name so it shouldn't be a problem. *crosses fingers*
