Lift registration - sharing password with mortgage broker?

I went along to a mortgage broker earlier and was quite amazed to be told about the government's LIFT scheme which I had not heard of before. All seemed good, but the advisor told me he'd send an email with a link to register with Lift, asking me once I sign up with my details and activate my account to send him the email address and password I used to register.
Is this slightly dodgy? Or is this to be expected? I've never heard of sharing passwords with people like this before.

As this is peculiar to Scotland, you'll have to hope someone who has used this can clarify.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Please do not send PMs asking for one-to-one-advice, or representation.0

<shrug> So use a password that you don't use anywhere else.0

Is there anything in the T&C of the LIFT scheme saying you should share passwords or a LIFE scheme administrator you could ask?0
-
Did you ask him why he wanted that information?
Perhaps he intends to complete the application on your behalf after you have registered with the appropriate agent

Sounds fine to me. You're both supposed to work together and trust each other.0
