Holiday Euros

Hi, I've got a bit confused reading about using specialist credit cards abroad. For instance it says using Halifax at ATM is free, but incurs a 1.50 monthly charge. So if I am going abroad am i best getting my Euros at the ATM when I am there. So today Halifax exchange rate is 1.19, so is that the rate if i withdrew from ATM abroad today.
Regards Robert

What Halifax credit card do you hold?

Only the clarity credit card is free to use abroad (or at home)but you will incur interest charges on cash withdrawn on the card until it is repaid.

Sorry don't know about any £1.50 monthly charge - that is a new one on me.

It could be a misunderstanding of the costs, possibly as someone has tried to explain it.

Newer cards have a best rate of 18%, so 1.5% a month so maybe it's a figure calculated from £100 and paid back on a statement a month later?

OP- if this is clarity then the exchange rate is the MasterCard rate, very close to the interbank rate.
