Credit card offered ended, what next?

Hi all,
I got a 0% on purchases card from Halifax 18months ago and the offer has now ended and I'm at a loss on what to do next.
I originally got the card to build a credit rating to apply for a morgage which I have now. Over time I found the credit card useful and spend about 100+ on it each month and always pay off in full via Direct debit on the following month. I'm happy to carry on using it but the variable rate is incredibly high and I just don't think it's worth it.
My question is what should I do now?

I tend to have my head screwed on with most things but credit cards throw me for a loop 😂

Any help would be lovely thanks everyone :)

The point of a 0% spending card is that you don't pay it off and build up a balance whilst slow stoozing the money elsewhere earning interest. If you pay it all off every month does it really matter what interest rate they charge ?

You need to find a rewards card that pays you for using it or another 0% spend card and this time make it worth your while by stoozing the balance.

If you carry on doing that then you won't be paying any interest so it doesn't matter what the declared APR on the card is.

The interest rate only matters if you don't pay it off in full each and every month.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Like the previous two posters I'm at a loss over why you have done that with a 0% purchase card. Different people will use such a card in different ways. Personally such a card would be used to buy something with a higher price and then paid off before the 0% period ends.

Where next? Any card. You don't need to worry about APR when you're clearing the balance every month.

Sounds like you misunderstood what a 0% purchases card does. Virtually all credit cards let you spend without any interest charges if you pay in full by the end of the month. The 18 month 0% would have let you not pay in full until the end of 18 months.

If you are happy with your card just keep using it the way you have and you will not pay any interest.
  • If you are paying off in full every month, it would be worth looking at a rewards or cashback credit card. My OH has a Tesco credit card which earns him clubcard points which we then convert to airmiles. I have the virgin atlantic AMEX/Visa so earn airmiles.

Hey all rather than make a new thread thought it would be best to post here as I am in the same boat that my Santander 123 credit card is coming to the end of its 0% on purchases.

I have just paid off most of the balance. But wondering what my next move should be? Looking to purchase a holiday so 0% on purchases would be good but will I need to look for a new card or could I call up and see if they can do anything?
